My Priorties

   Set a Clear and Articulated Vision for Sandoval County.

   Establish a Documented Stategic Plan, with clear Goals and Targets to measure performance, which is agreed upon by key stakeholders.

   Ensure the VOICE of the community is heard - OFTEN!

   Establish smart PARTNERSHIPS with residents, cities, other counties, the State, Federal agencies, private sector and non-profit organizations.

   Wise spending of our County revenues including YOUR tax dollars!

   Ensure County demonstrates its support for our SENIORS and YOUTH.

   Work towards meeting the Challenges identified below. 

Sandoval County Challenges

    1.  BASIC INFRASTRUCTURE - Meeting county needs for items such as water, drainage, waste disposal, transportation, Broadband access and safety and security.  County growth must be thoughful and clearly planned.

    2.  ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT - Creation of targeted high wage jobs and expanding revenues from retail sources.

    3.  MEDICAL CARE - Accessibility and quality of health care. Two hospitals opening in Rio Rancho in the near future.

    4.  EDUCATION - Support for public Education (Rio Rancho Public Schools) and opening public Education facilities for community use.  Ensuring meaningful partnerships with the new CNM and the University of New Mexico facilities in Rio Rancho.

    5.  COUNTY PERSONNEL - Recruting and filling the coming vacancies of several key County positions.

    6.  MANDATES FROM OTHERS - Constant vigilance against legislative or regulatory initiatives that undermine local government decision making.
